At TD Garden on Saturday, the Boston Bruins defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 6-1 to win their 11th straight game at home to start the season, tying an NHL record.
The Blackhawks of 1963–64 and the Florida Panthers of 2021–22 had previously held the mark, which the Bruins matched.
The Bruins' captain Patrice Bergeron stated, "It's a special team. "We are quite deep, and I think that comes across. Everyone is valued for their contributions, and I believe that everyone is confident, which is undoubtedly the most important factor."
For Boston (16-2-0), which has won six in a row, Brad Marchand had three assists, Charlie McAvoy had four assists, and David Pastrnak scored twice. In his first game since suffering a lower-body injury on November 1, Jeremy Swayman made 17 saves while Bergeron scored a goal and added an assist to reach 999 NHL points.
Jim Montgomery, the coach of the Bruins, remarked, "It was a pretty overpowering performance. "We performed fairly well right away. If you must be picky, I believe we handled the puck a little carelessly. Because we had the puck so frequently, we tried to be too perfect, but it was a really good game."
